NexRide Police Guide: Traffic Warnings, Chase Controls, Rewards and Fines

Last updated:

Police encounters in NexRide can turn a bike ride into a foot chase—and end with a cash fine. Learn what attracts police, how to respond to chase prompts, and what the ON THE RUN reward requires.

Running red lights, speeding, reckless riding and wheelies in front of police can attract attention. If you keep fleeing, avoid police-car collisions and stopping. On foot, hold Shift to sprint, press Q when an officer lunges, and use Space to get up when prompted. The ON THE RUN objective pairs about five minutes of pursuit with a successful escape for a $400–600 reward; getting caught can cost you cash.

What Draws Police Attention

Police can take notice when you:

  • Run a red light.
  • Speed.
  • Ride recklessly.
  • Perform a wheelie in front of them.

To avoid these traffic violations, stop at STOP signs, wait at red lights and proceed on green. Save wheelies for riding away from police.

PULL OVER, PURSUIT, SEARCHING and STAY STILL

Prompt Meaning and response
PULL OVER Police are behind you and ordering you to stop. Pull over in response to the instruction.
PURSUIT Police are actively chasing you.
SEARCHING Police are searching for you; this is a different state from active pursuit.
STAY STILL You are being arrested. Stay still—the warning says riding away at this point will make the situation worse.

The police HUD also displays wanted stars, pursuit distance and dispatch messages. Use the state label to distinguish an active chase from a search.

Bike Pursuits and Foot-Chase Controls

If you choose to keep fleeing on your bike, avoid hitting police cars or coming to a stop: either can make it easier for police to catch you. Cut back on wheelies during the pursuit to reduce the risk of being caught.

A crash or losing your bike can turn the encounter into a FOOT CHASE. Officers can continue after you on foot and lunge to tackle you.

  1. Press Space to stand up if a fall brings up the get-up prompt.
  2. Hold Shift to sprint. Watch the STAMINA bar and LOSE HIM escape-progress indicator.
  3. Press Q when an officer lunges to dodge the tackle.

Do not rely on jumping alone to escape; officers can still catch and tackle you.

For restarting or remounting afterward, use the PC controls guide. If you need to locate or recover your bike, see garage and bike recovery.

The Five-Minute ON THE RUN Reward

The ON THE RUN panel lists a 5:00 target with a $400–600 reward. To pursue that reward, keep the chase going for about five minutes and then successfully escape the police. The objective includes both the time target and the escape.

Wheelie and near-miss payouts can arrive during an active pursuit. Those payments are separate stunt income, so receiving one does not mean you have earned the chase reward. See wheelie and near-miss rewards for their controls and payout cues.

Arrest Fines and TACKLED Results

Being caught can end the pursuit with a cash deduction. Two arrest examples illustrate the cost:

Encounter Fine
A collision led to losing the bike, fleeing on foot and being arrested. $200
A TACKLED result listed Reckless riding and Speeding. $150

These amounts belong to those encounters. The $150 total is not a separate price for each listed offense, and neither amount is a flat fee for every arrest.

If your priority is building cash, choose an earning method you can control before risking a chase reward against an arrest fine. The NexRide money guide compares the available earning choices.
